In this reinterpretation, Liberty is no longer a symbol of political emancipation but of divine surrender. The artist embodies Liberty herself, holding a cup of wine in one hand and a bottle in the other suspended between sacrament and debauchery, devotion and defiance.

The gesture becomes a question of conscience: Is this indulgence, or salvation? The wine, both holy and profane, becomes a mirror of faith’s contradictions never too pure, never too fallen, always a prayer away from grace.

Through this re-enactment, Haji challenges inherited narratives of Arab womanhood, power, and virtue, reclaiming freedom not as rebellion against men, but as reconciliation with God.
